Scapa Flow – 13-18 September 2020 – MV Huskyan

Scapa Flow – 13-18 September 2020 – MV Huskyan

Dear all,

After the success of the recent Scapa trip, I am looking at booking another trip for September 2020. Yes, that is in over 2 years time! But if you want to be diving from the best day boat in prime season it is necessary to book well ahead!
For many of you Scapa Flow will need no introduction. Scapa Flow ranks as one of the world’s top diving destinations, and is a must for all wreck divers. There is a great selection of World War 1 German Wrecks to explore at top end recreational/technical depths. More details can be found here: http://www.scapaflowwrecks.com/
We will be diving from MV Huskyan which is a purpose built dive boat. We will be staying in self catering accommodation, minutes from the boat in the centre of Stromness. More details of the boat and accommodation can be found in the attached document.
To come on the trip you will need to be at least an experienced sports diver, happy doing square profile 35m dives in the U.K by the time of the trip. However, to get the very most out of the trip the ability to dive to 45m is best, as we are planning to dive the battleships (which are 43m or so to at their deepest). You may be slightly limited on a couple of the dives at sports diver level, please drop me a note or have a chat in the pub if you’re worried about this!
Now for the details:
– Trip cost £640 including:
  • 2 dives per day & self catered accommodation;
  • The use of a single 12l or 15l cylinder if required, and use of lead weights;
  • Air fills (nitrox available charged extra, trimix by prior arrangement);
  • Accurate, in depth, multi-media dive briefings and history talks. We have over 40 years combined experience diving the German Fleet. We are the only boat offering this level of briefing in Scapa;

Note that travel up to Scapa, food, beer etc will cost extra.

The Skipper has had trouble in recent years with groups dropping out. Therefore, she is requesting a 45% deposit up front. Consequently, to secure your place on the trip, I will be asking for £288 per person. First come, first served! The full balance will be due in 2020, I will of course be in touch about this.
If you commit to the trip with the deposit, you will be liable for the cost of the trip even if you have to drop out. However, given how far we are away from the trip dates, there should be little difficulty in finding someone to take your place if life gets in the way (just don’t leave it too late to tell me!).
Any questions, let me know!
Thanks
Jon
