Pizza Night

Everybody likes Pizza! Wednesday 22nd January is a great opportunity to enjoy a plate with your Hellfins mates. Nicky has booked a table at the Pizza Express two minutes walk from the Shell Centre and we'll all be heading off there after the pool session. I believe they may sell alcohol too.

Email Nicky to let her know you'll be there - she has to let them know hot many to expect.

Trips, Trips, Trips

Happy New Year and welcome to the new look newsletter. Last year was hugely successful for the club. There are plenty of trips and social events to read about on the web site.

This year it looks as though there will be even more! The diary is packed out with trips and that's even before we work out when to run weekends on the RIB. Book early though - a lot of them fill up quickly and some of them will disappear unless we get the deposit down quickly.

Clare's trip to the Moray Firth in July looks like a great one - and the date has been finalised now. Full details on the web site

Social Events in Stacks and Rolls

Exciting things await this year. Social has a brand new section on the web site which includes our fund raising progress. Some things to look forward to:

22nd January Pizza Night
Mid Feb Bowling
28th March Easter Party (Food and dancing)
April Trip to a recompression chamber
July Midsummer BBQ
August Charity Sky Dive
November Dive Kit Auction
December Christmas Party

There are some other events we'll fit in as we go. An adventure weekend maybe? Curry for twenty? Definitely!

Make sure to let Nicky know which one's you're interested in. Sometimes events get cancelled because nobody actually says they're interested - even though everybody wants to go.

The Pool: It's Safe

Lambeth Council had their open meeting last month. Once again, sadly for shell, they turned down the planning application.

According to someone who had lunch with someone who knows [never accuse US of rumours - ed/] the pool is now safe for at least two years.

Lectures - Every Month

Rather than running a complete set of lectures at the weekend we will now be running lectures on a ongoing basis on the first Wednesday of each month.

If you're doing ocean diver or sports diver training you can pick up on lectures you missed by pitching up on the relevant days. Shona will let you know which lecture is running when.

It also means that people who have completed their pool training have a chance at getting some kit at last! Hit the pool on the first Wednesday of each month and you could find all the things you need to check out kit, practice your hover or just chill out under the water.

Maili is organising a snorkeling club too so every night you turn up you can have some fun with the new underwater toys and get fit with some lung-buster snorkeling too.

Kit For Sale

Crispin has a 300 bar (high pressure) 12 litre cylinder for sale. These cost over £180 but he's only asking £80 for this (in test) bargain. Email crispin@hellfins.com.

You know, some people are incredibly unlucky. They don't get this fab newsletter or any of the other club emails. If you know any of the people on the list below, and you can get their email, please let webmaster know. Those Unlucky people are:
