Winter's here. Mike's been organising training trip to Stoney but if you fancy something more adventurous he's also organising a trip to Oban in December. If that just makes you feel chilly don't worry - festive cheer is just around the corner. Nicky has put together a great evening's entertainment for the Christmas party. It's a must. It's also a Hellfins winter tradition to look forward to next year with the dive planning meeting in November and we'll be combining that with the E.G.M. to ratify the club budget. Jen was re-elected as treasurer and needs to make sure her ideas about next year's finances meet with you approval. Talking about the re-election, we have a new committee now. Gazing around the faces at the first meeting I couldn't help but miss those who served last year but won't this. Allan, Phil, Gretel and Chris - Thank you. The new committee will rely on your depth and breadth of experience as the new year progresses and can only hope to emulate your enthusiasm and hard work. Let's imagine spring is here again [the season, not the member, that would be scary - Ed/] and dream about next year. Mike (divingofficer@hellfins.com) will be hosting the annual Dive Planning Meeting on 20th November in the York Room after the pool session. Bring along a sunny outlook - winter can't last forever! Any member can organise a trip and the more that do the better. If you've dived somewhere before and would like to share it or you're happy to book B&Bs and organise a training weekend pipe up! If you've never done it before there a some guidelines in the "a target="_blank" href="/club/briefcase/">Briefcase. Jen (treasurer@hellfins.com) will also be presenting the budget for next year. Our constitution says this must be ratified by the members, so here's your chance to comment. There's a raffle too - see Ian on Wednesday for tickets or buy them on the night - as ever all money goes to charity and club funds.
